Yes. When items in bottles or cans are purchased by the consumer, there is a redemption charge that the consumer pays that is put into a fund. The fund is a state fund and is held by the state treasury. When bottles or cans are returned, the money returned to the consumer comes from that fund. The bottle depots get reimbursed by the state redemption fund. Hope this helps!
